The auspicious dawn of the New Year was welcomed with vibrant cultural enthusiasm across our sanctuary. Residents dressed in traditional batik and sarongs gathered around the hearth to witness the boiling of milk, symbolising prosperity, good health, and longevity.

A morning filled with melodic raban playing and friendly indoor games—such as finding the hidden coin in the flour plate and blindfolded drawing—was followed by a lavish feast of homemade Kevum, Kokis, Athirasa, and Kiribath. Families joined in the afternoon to seek blessings from parents through the traditional gifting of betel leaves.
